FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

How do I know if Front Line Foundations is right for me?

If you are an active or retired fire fighter, police officer, EMT, or a member of the armed forces and you are feeling the impact of acute and/or chronic stress related to your job, then you would benefit from coming to Front Line Foundations (FLF). Some of the most common reasons that front line workers seek treatment at our program include changes in mood, constant vigilance, difficulty with personal relationships, disciplinary actions at work, suicidal thoughts, or using alcohol and drugs to help manage stress. Call our main number (802)732-2518 or email us at flf@frontlinefoundations.org to speak with our office manager Lila Cancellieri and get more information about our Five Day Mindfulness Program, or about individual therapy. We are happy to answer all of your inquiries over the phone and we encourage you to call. Because we are a small team, we try our best to return calls within one business day.

Can I commute from home to FLF?

Some of our clients who live in the area choose to commute from home. Our Peer Counselor Joe Gorman facilitates shared lodging for our clients who are attending the Five Day Mindfulness Program. Although we strongly encourage our clients to take advantage of the shared lodging, no one is under any obligation to do so. Those who are commuting can spend time at the shared lodging and have dinner there is they choose.

Does the FLF program certify me fit-for-duty when I return to my department?

Because every department’s fit-for-duty criteria is different, FLF is unable to do fit-for-duty certifications. However, with your express permission, we will work with your department to provide any information and answer any questions that you think would be helpful in the process.

Does FLF bill health insurance?

Yes, we bill your health insurance company for the services for the Five Day Program (Intensive Outpatient Program) and for individual therapy. The insurance carriers that we work with include Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Vermont, BCBS of New Hampshire (Anthem), BCBS of Massachusetts (Network Blue New England), HPI (Health Plans, Inc.), and MVP Health Insurance. If you have an insurance carrier that is not listed here, please be assured that we will do our best to work with your carrier. Lack of insurance or lack of coverage for services does not exclude anyone from receiving treatment at FLF, and we will work with all clients and their health insurance companies to provide them with what they need.

How do I become a client at FLF?

Whether you are interested in attending our Five Day Mindfulness Education Program, or are inquiring about individual therapy, you can call our main phone number (802)732-2518 or email us at flf@frontlinefoundations.org to connect with our office manager Lila Cancellieri. We will be happy to provide you with more information about the Five Day Program in order to help you decide whether it is a good fit for you at this time. We can also provide you with more information about scheduling individual therapy sessions with one of our Individual Therapy Clinicians.
